A union involved in the Night Tube dispute has suspended its involvement in planned strikes to allow talks to continue with transport bosses.

Unite, which represents 600 engineers and maintenance staff, was set to join the three 24 hour walk outs from the evenings of January 26, February 15 and February 17 alongside Aslef and the Rail, Maritime and Transport union.

Members of both Aslef and the RMT are still expected to take part in the three strikes.

Hugh Roberts, national officer of Unite said: "Unite is suspending its three days of strike action this month and in February over pay and night working on the London Underground.

“This is to allow for further talks with the conciliation service Acas on these issues.

“We will approach these talks in a constructive fashion and urge LU management to do the same.”

Talks were held at the conciliation service Acas on Friday and are set to resume this week.
