Van ripped apart following crash on the M25

The M25 remains closed after a lorry crashed into the back of a broken down van.

Images of the van released by Surrey Police show it ripped in half following the collision between junctions five and six at 9.50am this morning.

The driver of the van was able to leave the vehicle to call for help and both drivers were not hurt, according to ITV news.

Concrete and oil spewed out onto the motorway after the HGV crashed into the central reservation.

The M25 has been closed for most of the day anti-clockwise, while two lanes were closed on the clockwise carriageway.

Motorists are being told to expect delays of more than an hour.
