A man has died after being hit by a train in south-west London on Monday afternoon.
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene of the incident near Queenstown Road, Battersea, shortly after 3pm on Monday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
All South West trains in and out of Waterloo have been disrupted, with severe delays expected until the end of service.
A spokeswoman for British Transport Police told the Standard: "We can confirm the man who was struck by a train has sadly died.
"We do not believe the incident was suspicious and are still at the scene trying to work out the man’s identity and alert his next of kin.”
A spokesman for Network Rail said: “We were alerted to an incident requiring the emergency services at around 3pm.
"Services began to be restored shortly after 3.30pm, however delays and alterations will continue for some time."
Passengers travelling from Waterloo are advised to check southwesttrains.co.uk for the latest travel advice, Network Rail said.
On Monday morning commuters faced delays and cancellations due to a signalling problem at the station.
