31 ‘victims’ sue Savile’s estate and BBC

The BBC and Jimmy Savile’s £4 million estate are being sued on behalf of 31 alleged sex abuse victims.

Solicitor Alan Collins said a writ had been issued at the High Court. The allegations range from inappropriate behaviour to serious sexual abuse.

A spokesman said the BBC was unable to comment. Another lawyer, Liz Dux, representing more than 50 alleged victims, has confirmed all of them will sue the estate and pursue civil claims against organisations responsible for where the alleged abuse took place.
