Call The Midwife star Megan Cusack was taken to hospital after a serious fall at the TRIC Awards.
The 25-year-old actress stumbled at the event on Wednesday night and took to social media to suggest she needed 17 stitches after her ordeal.
The Cork-born actress, who plays Nancy Corrigan in the long-running BBC drama, was photographed leaving the event in a wheelchair before being taken to A&E.
On her Instagram Stories, Cusack posted a video of her being pushed in to A&E by Call The Midwife co-star Fenella Woolgar.
Later in the evening, she posted: “17 stitches later I’m home. I also finally get to be that kid that has crutches.”
Cusack was seen earlier in the day wearing a blue patterned dress while walking on the red carpet.
Call The Midwife had been up for Best Drama at the 2021 TRIC Awards on Wednesday but lost out to The Crown.
Meanwhile, Piers Morgan won a presenting prize at the awards, hosted by the Television and Radio Industries Club.
Morgan was nominated following a turbulent first half of 2021 which saw him depart the ITV morning programme over incendiary comments about the Duchess of Sussex.
His remarks about Meghan sparked more than 50,000 complaints, the most in watchdog Ofcom’s history, but the programme was cleared earlier this month.
Good Morning Britain won the multi-channel news prize at the awards ceremony, beating BBC Breakfast and Sky News.
Bridgerton was named best new drama.
