Conservative lead narrowing - poll

12 April 2012

David Cameron's lead over Labour is narrowing, according to a new opinion poll.

The ComRes poll for The Independent puts the Tories on 36%, down two points on last month and 11 points ahead of Labour, up three on 25%.

The Liberal Democrats are down one on 19%.

The newspaper calculated the figures would give the Conservatives a majority of just 10 at a general election.

ComRes interviewed 1,007 adults in Great Britain by telephone between June 26 and 28.
