A bus has crashed into a Surrey home, but miraculously no one was injured.

The route 466 bus, travelling from Addington Village to Caterham-on-the-Hill, crashed along Coulsdon Road just after 9am on Friday.

Photos of the scene show the double-decker with its front windows dramatically smashed, as it sits in the front garden of the Caterham home.

Surrey police confirmed no one had been hurt after the vehicle hurtled off the road.

In a statement the force said: “Police were called at 9.07am to reports of a bus leaving the road and colliding with a tree and a parked vehicle.

“There are no reports of injuries currently. Recovery is being organised and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.”

One man who had been travelling aboard said it wasn’t as bad as it looked.

He told MyLondon: “As someone who was on the bus, the scene post-accident definitely looks a lot worse then what happened.

“Not saying it wasn’t an unpleasant experience but no one was hurt, only six people were on the bus and the driver.

“Everyone got off without hesitation.”

The 466 route has now resumed normal service.
