Two people had a lucky escape after a bus ploughed into their house.

The single-decker crashed into the property in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, at around 2.20pm on Saturday.

The bus driver and some passengers suffered minor injuries, with one being admitted to hospital, Thames Valley Police said.

A police spokesman said: "Fortunately the two occupants of the property were able to leave the property with only minor injuries."

A structural engineer and contractors were working with a recovery team on Sunday to try to remove the bus, which was left embedded in the front of the house.

No arrests have been made.

Police have appealed for people with information to come forward as they said it was lucky no-one sustained serious injury.

Traffic officer Sergeant Tom Smith said: "It was very fortunate that people weren't seriously injured in this collision.

"We are now investigating the circumstances which led to this crash and would ask that anyone who was on the Wycombe Road yesterday just before 2.20pm and witnessed the incident or the bus driving just before the collision to call us as a matter of urgency on 101."

Anyone with any information is asked to call Thames Valley Police on non-emergency number 101.
