Early bird revellers have started to arrive at Reading and Leeds festivals – and they could well be needing their wellies.

Festival goers with early bird tickets were able to access the sites on Wednesday, two days before the music starts.

Some were even pictured getting a boat along the River Thames as they headed for Richfield Avenue, where Reading takes place.

Typically, it came as the Met Office warned it is unlikely they will be enjoying too much sunshine.

Rain is forecast on Friday in both Reading and Leeds, while it will remain cloudy for the rest of the weekend.

Temperatures are set to peak at 22C in Reading and 18C in Leeds.

The festivals, which run on the August bank holiday every year, will be headlined by Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar and Kings of Leon.

Other acts include Travis Scott, Dua Lipa and Panic! At The Disco.
