A teenager who condemned an innocent man to 10 weeks in prison after falsely claiming she had been raped by a masked stranger in an alleyway is to be sentenced.
Katie Davis, 18, had sex with Frank Chisholm at his house after meeting him in the street as he was walking home from a night out drinking on March 6 last year.
But Lewes Crown Court heard she invented the false rape allegation when she feared she could be pregnant after having unprotected sex with the former railway labourer.
A police investigation led to Mr Chisholm being charged with rape after DNA evidence linked him to Davis, who was 16 at the time of the alleged offence and claimed to be a virgin.
Mr Chisholm, 24, denied raping her, saying they had consensual sex at his home in Battle Road, St Leonards, East Sussex.
He was held on remand at Lewes Prison for 10 weeks, and had three applications for bail rejected, before scientific evidence emerged which led to the case against him being dropped.
Last month Davis, of Blackman Avenue, St Leonards, broke down as she was found guilty of perverting the course of justice by making a false claim of rape.
The jury had spent just an hour deliberating.
Judge Richard Brown told the teenager that her actions were "wicked and evil" and that a custodial sentence was inevitable.
She will be sentenced by the same judge at Lewes Crown Court on Monday.
