Image released after man is punched in face in random Islington attack

Officers have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an unprovoked assault in Islington.

Police were called to Whistler Street on Thursday, July 1 after a man allegedly walked up to a random person and punched them in the face.

The 25-year-old male victim was hit without warning before the attacker fled the scene.

Officers spoke to the victim over the phone following the incident. He had suffered a facial injury.

There have been no arrests made so far.

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured and are asking anyone who can identify him to tweet @MetCC or call 101 reference CAD 2818/06Aug21.
