The Labour Party has confirmed it will host its first festival this summer, with The Magic Numbers and Jeremy Corbyn on the line-up.

Labour Live 2018 will be a one-day event of music, art and politics held at White Hart Lane Recreation Ground in London on June 16.

Singers Rae Morris and Jermain Jackman and MPs Kate Osamor and John McDonnell are also set to perform at the festival, with more acts to be announced.

The event information said Labour fans can look forward to "loads of great bands, speakers from across literature and politics, campaign training, food and drink, kids' entertainment – and hopefully a bit of sunshine too".

The World Transformed, which organises political events, will also be at the event.

The group, an offshoot of Momentum, previously organised #TWT2016 - a four day festival of politics, art, music and culture that took place alongside the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, 2016.

In September 2017, the group ran a week long, multi-venue festival of politics, art, music and culture alongside the Labour Party Conference in Brighton.

The launch of Labour Live comes after Mr Corbyn appeared on the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival last year, in which he delivered a speech on issues including sexism, racism, homophobia and poverty.

Tickets for the festival will go on sale from March 20.
