Lottery win may be new world record

12 April 2012

One ticket holder is thought to have become the world's biggest lottery winner by scooping £110 million in the EuroMillions jackpot.

The winning numbers were 4, 29, 23, 31, 24 and the Lucky Stars 9 and 8.

The winner who matched all seven numbers bought their ticket in Spain, Camelot said.

If the ticket belongs to one person, rather than a syndicate, they will break the record for the world's biggest lottery jackpot win.

The previous record for a single ticket winning a jackpot prize was around £81 million in Italy's Superenalotto in October last year.

The UK's biggest winner won £244,317.60 for matching five numbers and one Lucky Star, Camelot said.

A National Lottery spokeswoman said: "This huge jackpot has been really exciting for players all over the UK and Europe.
