Man arrested after missing schoolgirls Sammy Clarke and Siobhan Clarke found safe and well

A man has been arrested after two schoolgirls who sparked a massive police hunt after going missing were been found safe and well.

Sammy Clarke, 14, and Siobhan Clarke, 15, of Maldon, Essex sparked a hunt after leaving school early on Friday to meet up with a friend, police said.

But Essex Police said on Monday that they were found "safe and well" in Westcliff.

A 22-year-old man from the Southend area was arrested in connection with the incident, police said.

The pair had not been seen since leaving school to go to a local park on Friday evening.
