Man stabbed to death in attack

12 April 2012

A murder inquiry was underway after a young man was found stabbed to death.

The victim, believed to be in his mid-20s, was found at a property in Wandsworth Road, south Lambeth, south London.

Paramedics were called shortly after 4pm on Monday after reports of an attack.

But they were unable to save the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene soon afterwards.

Scotland Yard said murder squad detectives believe they know the identity of the victim, but are waiting for formal identification.

A post-mortem examination is expected to take place later on Tuesday. Officers are working to trace his family.

In July, doorman Kolawole Babadiya, 28, was shot in the head outside Bar SW8 in the same street, which runs between Vauxhall Cross and Clapham.

A second man was also injured in the shooting, which was not believed to have been targeting the doorman.
