Meghan says she was being ‘fed to the wolves’ in bombshell new trailer for Netflix show

Prince Harry appears to imply there was ‘institutional gaslighting’ among the royal family

Meghan Markle says she was being ‘fed to the wolves’ in the latest bombshell trailer for her Netflix show alongside Prince Harry.

The final three parts of the documentary are set to be released on Thursday morning.

In the trailer, released at midday on Monday, Prince Harry appears to imply there was ‘institutional gaslighting’ among the royal family.

It is expected that the second tranch of three episodes will be more critical of the royal family, British institutions and cover the couple’s decision to quit the UK.

In the trailer Harry says: “I wonder what would have happened to us if we had not got out when we did?”

Meghan says: “Our security was being pulled. Everyone in the world knew where we were.”

Meghan adds: “I wasn’t being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves.”

Prince Harry also says: “They were happy to lie to protect my brother, but they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.” It is not clear from the trailer whom Harry is referring to.

The trailer, which also features photographs and video footage of the couple at home in California and with their children, ends with Harry saying: “I’ve always felt as though this was a fight worth fighting for.”

The first three episodes of the documentary addressed the couple’s tumultuous relationship with the press, with the Duchess of Sussex accusing the media of wanting to “destroy” her.

There was significant backlash to the show in some circles, with one MP calling for the couple to lose their royal titles as Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The royal family are yet to comment on the show in any official capacity.

A disclaimer at the start of the show said that Buckingham Palace declined to comment but last Thursday, when the first episodes were released, the royal household said they had not been offered a comment.
