Pensioner charged with killing 18-month-old boy almost 50 years ago

The man will appear at Teesside Magistrates Court to face the charges.

A pensioner has been charged with killing a toddler nearly 50 years ago.

The 70-year-old man has been charged with the murder of the 18-month-old boy, from Stockton in the north of England.

Cleveland Police said the toddler, who was from the Haverton Hill area, died on Tuesday, October 1 in 1968.

The man is from the Great Yarmouth area of Norfolk.

The pensioner is due to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Monday afternoon.
