A mother and son who died after a car was found submerged in a pond in Peterborough have been named.
Vivien Radocz, 28, and Milan Radocz, eight, both of Churchill Road, in Stamford, Lincolnshire, were discovered inside the blue Ford Focus on Saturday morning.
The car was spotted in the water next to Old Oundle Road, to the rear of RAF Wittering.
Vivien died at the scene, while Milan was taken to hospital where he tragically later died.
John Bradshaw, chairman of Wittering Parish Council, said: “I’d like to pass on my personal condolences and also on behalf of the parish council. It’s quite shocking really and a very sad and tragic thing to happen. It’s a tragic loss of life.”
In a statement on Twitter on Tuesday, Peterborough Police said: “It is unclear how long the vehicle had been in the water.
“Anyone who witness the vehicle go into the water, or has relevant dashcam footage, should call police on 101 or visit the reporting section of our website quotiung 414 of September 3.”
