A lucky ticketholder could win the world's biggest lottery payout today - an estimated £120 million EuroMillions jackpot.
The UK could also leap to the top of the EuroMillions sales league - putting it in pole position to bank the big cheque. In last week's rush for tickets across Europe, the UK came second only to France.
After 12 weeks and 11 rollovers, the colossal EuroMillions estimated jackpot must be won today. If no-one matches all five main numbers and two Lucky Star numbers to win the jackpot, then the amount will be shared between any winners in the next prize level in that draw.
If the jackpot rolls down, then the odds of winning also change significantly. The odds of banking the jackpot are just over 76 million to one.
But the odds of matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star number - the next prize level down - are under 5.5 million to one.
In the lead up to last Friday's draw, the UK and France pulled ahead in the union of nine countries which take part in the world's biggest multi-national lottery game.
They were followed by Portugal and Spain, then Switzerland and Belgium - with Austria, Ireland and Luxembourg completing the pack chasing the mega-jackpot.
Stores have been bracing themselves for massive sales - which have also raised millions of pounds for charity.
A National Lottery spokesman said: "This series of EuroMillions rollovers has already generated over £35 million for the good causes in the UK - and that figure is expected to top an incredible £45 million by the end of Friday this week.
"At peak time last Friday, around two million EuroMillions tickets were sold an hour, further boosting returns to the good causes. Ticket sales this Friday are expected to exceed 2.5 million an hour - over 700 tickets a second."
