Shamed entertainer Rolf Harris is driving prison officers “mad” by making didgeridoos out of toilet rolls in his prison cell, according to reports.

The convicted paedophile has crafted his own version of the Aboriginal instrument using cardboard tubes and matches in his Stafford Prison cell.

Guards have made repeat attempts to confiscate them, the Sun reported.

A source told the newspaper: "He joins the tubes together with matchsticks, it's driving everyone mad.

"He sits in his cell and tries to play his home-made didgeridoo. It's not the real deal but it acts as a therapy for him."

The Sun also reported Harris had joined a choir since moving to Stafford from HMP Bullingdon and excels at table tennis.

The 86-year-old was jailed for five years and nine months in 2014 for 12 indecent assaults on four girls between 1969 and 1986.
