Two more survivors of a South African bus crash in which three British students were killed have been discharged from hospital in the country, it has been disclosed.

Nine members of a group from Brooksby Melton College in Leicestershire remain in hospital in South Africa, with two students discharged on Monday morning, the college said.

Six survivors flew back to the UK on Saturday to be reunited with friends and family.

The party was on a field trip as part of a foundation degree in animal management and welfare when the accident happened on Thursday morning.

Eleanor Payne and Samantha Lake, both 19, were killed when their driver apparently lost control on a bend.

Fellow student Daniel Greenwood, 22, died later in hospital following emergency treatment.

They were among a group of 18 students and two teachers on the trip.

A statement from the college said all those involved in the incident now had family with them. "We have sent another member of the college team out to provide additional support and comfort for those still there," it added.

"We are hoping for more students to fly back to the UK this week once medical clearance to fly has been received."

The group were on a wildlife study tour in the country and were travelling from Swaziland to Nelspruit to visit a monkey sanctuary when their bus overturned.
