Terrifying moment family scream for their lives after lorry 'hits car' on M20 in Kent

This is the terrifying moment a lorry allegedly hit a car and pushed it along a motorway while a child in the back seat screamed in fear.

The family were driving back from a day out at Hever Castle in Kent when an HGV they had just overtaken apparently clipped their vehicle from behind.

The dashcam footage, shared by driver Scott Hall, shows his Kia Rio being spun round and then pushed sideways across two lanes.

His wife and eight-year-old daughter, both sat on the side of the lorry, can be heard screaming in fear as the car spins out of control.

After being dragged along the road for a few seconds, the vehicle eventually comes to a rest on the hard shoulder.

Mr Hall, 41, told the Standard that nobody was injured in the incident on Tuesday at around 5.30pm, although the car was severely damaged.

He said the first thing that went through his mind was the safety of his daughter.

“As we were still moving I remember turning around and reaching for her,” he said.

Mr Hall, from Gillingham, shared the dashcam footage on Facebook, writing: “So this is what happened to us on the way back from Hever Castle yesterday."

He added: “We are all ok. Cannot say the same for the car though.”

It comes after another lorry driver Ryszard Masierak was charged in court following the M1 horror crash in which eight people died.

The 31-year-old is charged with eight counts of causing death by dangerous driving and four of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
