A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of three men who were hit by a car while protecting shops from looters, police said.
Haroon Jahan, 21, and brothers Shazad Ali, 30, and Abdul Musavir, 31, were killed when they were struck by a car in the early hours of Wednesday. They were all pronounced dead in hospital.
Adam King, 23, from Kings Norton in Birmingham has been charged with three counts of murder and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Monday morning. He is the third person charged in connection with the deaths after Joshua Donald, 26, from Kelsall Croft, Ladywood, and a 17-year-old male were charged on Saturday night.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police confirmed a 27-year-old man has been bailed pending further inquiries. He is the third person to be released after a 16-year-old male was bailed yesterday and a 32-year-old man bailed earlier this week.
Mr Jahan, Mr Ali and Mr Musavir were killed trying to protect shops in their community of Winson Green from being attacked and looted on Tuesday evening and into the early hours of Wednesday.
After the deaths, it emerged that Mr Jahan's father, Tariq, attempted to revive his son after hearing the car speed away from the scene in Dudley Road, Winson Green.
Donald and the 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates' Court to answer the three murder charges against them. Both defendants were remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday.
Earlier today hundreds of people took part in a peace rally in Summerfield Park, Dudley Road, not far from the scene of the tragedy.
Speaking from the stage, Mr Jahan, 46, told the gathered crowd: "To me it's the month of Ramadan, as a Muslim I believe that this is a very special month. For us Muslims we believe the gates of heaven are open and the gates of hell are shut this month, so that gives me the strength to believe that the three boys did not die in vain, they died for this community and I hope that this community will remember them."

Abdul Qudoos, the elder brother of Shazad and Musavir, broke down as he addressed the crowd and asked them for unity. He finished by making a plea to the gathered audience, saying: "Please do not divide, be together, be at unity. Let people know that we are all good...Let's just unite."
