Cheeky Princess Charlotte stole the show at Prince Louis’s christening by making it clear to photographers gathered outside St James’s Palace that they weren’t invited to join the celebrations.

Charlotte, three, turned to photographers as she left the Chapel Royal clutching her father Prince William’s hand and appeared to say: “You’re not coming.”

The adorable outburst amused royal fans who praised the princess's “sass”.

One person wrote on Twitter: “Who run the world? Obvi Princess Charlotte” in reference to Beyoncé’s fierce single.

Another person added: “Princess Charlotte walked past photographers on the way to the christening and told them “you’re not coming” the sass is strong in this one.”

The confident princess also delighted the nation ahead of the service as she shook hands with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

William was heard congratulating his two eldest children, Charlotte and George, four, for politely shaking the hands of members of the clergy before entering the chapel.

The service marked the first time the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge had made an appearance with all three of their children.

Kate held a sleeping 11-week-old Louis in her arms and told the Archbishop he was “very relaxed” as the family arrived for the big day.

The royal party were led in by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall.

Following them were the Cambridges, while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were the final royals to be welcomed by the archbishop.

The Queen and Prince Philip were not attending the christening on Monday following a decision agreed by the Queen and the Cambridges some time ago. The decision is understood not to have been taken on health grounds.
