Barack Obama and Joe Biden rekindled their bromance over a ham and cheese sandwich during a trip to a bakery.

Ten years on from their election as president and vice-president, Mr Obama and Mr Biden stunned customers when they arrived at the Dog Tag Bakery in Washington DC.

The café supports disabled veterans, military spouses and caregivers.

A video showed the former leaders of the free world carefully considering their options at the counter.

Mr Biden demanded: “I don’t want any sauce. You don’t have any mustard, do you?”

He was then interrupted by Mr Obama: “Hold on, hold on! What you getting?”

Mr Biden said: “I’m having one of these, er, whatever they’re called.”

He then held up his plate, studied the sandwich intently, before cautiously announcing: “Ham…and cheese.”

“Yeah,” Mr Obama replied, “it looks pretty good, I think I’m gonna have one of those too.”

Mr Biden orders: “Get the boss one of those, too.”

The café was chuffed with its new customers, tweeting: “Look who stopped by @DogTagBakery for lunch today!

“Thank you @BarackObama and @JoeBiden for supporting our mission of empowering veterans with service-connected disabilities, military spouses, and military caregivers!”
