Burma frees 90 political prisoners

The Burmese opposition partyof Aung San Suu Kyi today welcomed the release of nearly 90 political prisoners as part of a government amnesty but said that at least 350 remain in jail.

President Thein Sein has made freedom for political prisoners a centrepiece of reforms.
