Donald Trump today leapt on the latest Paris terror incident to warn US citizens to "get smart."

The attack at the Louvre has been described by French Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve as “terrorist in nature” but few details are known about the man responsible.

Within hours of the incident the US President tweeted: “A new radical Islamic terrorist has just attacked in Louvre Museum in Paris.

“Tourists were locked down. France on edge again. GET SMART U.S.”

It comes after Mr Trump appeared not to mention Sunday’s attack at an Islamic centre in Quebec at all on his famed social media account, which he frequently uses to communicate with his millions of followers.

Alexandre Bissonnette, the man charged with killing six people in that attack, is known for his far-right views, and reportedly ‘liked’ US President Donald Trump and French National Front leader Marine Le Pen on Facebook.

Last week Mr Trump signed an executive order stopping all immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries - Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Sudan and Somalia - for 90 days with an indefinite ban for Syrian refugees.

The moved has caused mass outrage, sparking protests both in the US and across the world.
