Five mysterious drones sparked a security scare in Paris today after flyin over the American embassy and a range historic landmarks in the French capital.
The unmanned aircraft were seen in the earlier hours over the USA’s principal diplomatic mission in France, which has been threatened by terrorists in the past.
The Eiffel Tower, the Place de la Concorde, Bastille square and the Invalides, where Napoleon Bonaparte is buried, where also flown over.
It follows warnings by terrorist groups that they will attack the city, following January shootings which left a total of 20 dead, including three terrorists.
Security officials were left powerless as the drones flew sorties between midnight and around 6am.
“They could be seen throughout the night, but nobody knows who were operating them,” said a police source in the capital.
