A former Miss Russia contestant has been body-shamed on social media for the size of her feet.

A regular user of Instagram, Anastasia Reshetova has been trolled on a number of her posts.

While many people have left compliments on the 21-year-old’s photos, some have been quick to describe her feet as “flippers”.

In a post captioned “the atmosphere is awesome,” Reshetova reclines on a sofa in an orange bikini. The photo garnered 65,109 likes and hundreds comments: “We don’t see the atmosphere, we see the size.”

Despite negative replies, other fans have been supportive of Reshetova. User, Krasnova.natasha2015 said: “Almost all tall people (above 1.79) have a large foot size. This is normal!!!”

Earlier this week actress Lucy Hale, famous for her role in teen drama Pretty Little Liars, was accused of being “too skinny” after she uploaded a picture to Instagram.

Posted without a caption, the photo shows the 28-year-old in jeans and a black t-shirt tied in knot at her waist. It received 805,796 likes but a number of comments referenced Hale’s weight, highlighting it as an issue.

“EAT GIRL YOU NEED TO EAT," wrote one Instagram user.

Another wrote: “You are pretty, and a good actress. This is way too skinny. You look healthier in your previous photos.”

A 2016 study found that around 60 per cent of women believe social media puts pressure on people to look a certain way and earlier this year the Youth Select Committee launched an inquiry into body image after it was voted to be a top issue among young people.

The report included evidence from people who revealed that social media had caused them to feel negatively about their appearances: “Body dissatisfaction must be recognised as a serious issue which potentially affects every young person,” it read.

“This report is only the first step; far more needs to be done by society at large to tackle this issue.”
