In the moving video, a young boy, among at least 20 other children, speaks from behind several microphones and implores the world to “protect them.”
He said: “Since 7 October, we've faced extermination, killing, bombing over our heads – all of this in front of the world."
"They lied to the world that they kill the fighters, but they kill the people of Gaza, their dreams and their future. Kids of Gaza run out of their hopes and wants."
“We come now to shout and invite you to protect us.”
"We want to live, we want peace, we want judgement for the killers of children. We want shelter, food and education, and we want to live as the other children live."
Since Israel’s response to the Hamas attack on October 7, at least 10,569 people have been killed, 4,324 of them children according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza, a Hamas-run organisation.
Last week, Israel bombed an ambulance outside Al-Shifa hospital. Fifteen people were killed in the attack. On Monday it was reported that Israeli forces had targeted the hospital again, this time hitting a solar panel system that was providing electricity.
On Monday, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, warned that Gaza is “becoming a graveyard for children.”
Officials and diplomats continue to negotiate for a ceasefire as President Benjamin Netanyahu said there will be no ceasefire agreement until Hamas releases an estimated 230 Israeli hostages.
