Former Glee star Mark Salling has been arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography.

The American actor, who played Noah “Puck” Puckerman in the hit series from 2009 to May this year, was held at his home in the Sunland area of Los Angeles on Tuesday, police officer Tony Im said.

He added Salling, 33, had been investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department's internet crimes against children task force.

He has been taken into custody.

In 2013, Salling's ex-girlfriend Roxanne Gorzela sued the actor after claiming he forced her to have sex without a condom.

Salling denied the allegations and the case was settled without going to court.

The latest allegations were first reported by American news outlet Crime Watch Daily.

The actor's representatives have yet to comment.
