A British tourist has been stabbed to death and two other people were injured in a brawl during a music festival in Croatia.
The victim, 26, was found at Zrce beach on Pag Island, where the popular Hideout festival was taking place, early on Wednesday.
Seven people have been arrested after the man was found suffering knife wounds, according to local reports.
Croatian media reported that the man, whose identity is not yet known, was stabbed in a fight between two groups of tourists.
The Foreign Office said it is supporting the victim's family in Britain and that it is in contact with Croatian police.
Images from the scene showed the area outside Kalypso nightclub sealed off as police stood guard.
A witness told The Sun that a DJ set came to a halt amid the chaos and said he saw a man lying on the floor while another was covered in blood.
“I saw a man lying on the floor and another guy, standing up, with his back covered in blood,” he told the newspaper.
"There was a trail of blood from the stage to the exit."
A Foreign Office spokesman told the Standard: “Staff from the British Embassy in Zagreb are supporting the family of a British man who died following an incident in Novalja, and are in contact with the Croatian police and the State Attorney.”
A spokesman for Hideout festival said: "Following an incident involving a group of young men at Zrće Beach early this morning [Wednesday], one man tragically lost his life.
"Another man remains in hospital.
“We are giving every assistance to the investigation and our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends of the people affected.”
