Theresa May dancing: Jean-Claude Juncker does the 'Maybot' as he 'mocks' PM on stage

Patrick Grafton-Green8 October 2018

Jean-Claude Juncker appeared to mock Theresa May when he started dancing in a style that appeared to resemble the PM’s unique moves.

Journalist James Crisp posted a brief clip of the president of the European Commission on stage at an event in Brussels.

Mr Juncker is seen apparently performing "the Maybot" as he put his arms out and jigged along to some music, before his face broke out into a large grin.

Mr Crisp wrote: “Is this @JunckerEU mocking @theresa_may's Abba dance at a speech to the Committee of the Regions?”

Her bold entrance was seen as a way of hitting back at critics after she was filmed showing off her moves during a trip to Kenya.

Mr Juncker was speaking on Monday at the European Committee of the Regions, an assembly of local and regional politicians.

He has been at odds with Mrs May for much of the the UK's Brexit negotiations, most damningly pouring scorn over her Chequers proposals.
