Celebrity jungle: two incidents took place close to the I'm A Celebrity Camp
Standard Reporter26 November 2014

Security are on alert at the I’m A Celebrity jungle after it was reported a murderer is on the loose in the area.

A man was bludgeoned to death with a tennis racquet in Coomera, Queensland close to the jungle site, and police said the killer is still at large.

Mark Spencer, 37, was found dead by his housemate on the back porch of his home in Foxwell Road, on October 1.

Police have not yet made any arrests and have only been able to identify a black Ford Falcon seen on the morning of the murder in Gold Coast.

It is believed the driver of the vehicle was female and there was a male passenger in the front seat.

In a similar incident two weeks ago a woman was found dead in the street in Murwillumbah, the closest town to where the I’m A Celebrity contestants are camping.

Police said they are treating the death of Lynette Jones, 52, as suspicious.

The incidents have means security at I’m A Celebrity camp have been told to alert police if they see any suspicious men approaching the site.

An ITV source told Mirror Online: “We have a security team on site. The safety and security of our celebrities and crew is of the utmost importance."
