This is the moment a cyclist is hurled from his bike by a hit-and-run crash with a lorry in the middle of a motorway.

The rider appears to narrowly avoid sustaining any serious injuries in the dramatic high-speed collision.

The HGV, which fails to stop at the scene on a major road near St Petersburg, Russia, along with several other vehicles, nearly drags the helpless cyclist under its back wheels when the driver cuts him up as he indicates right.

On impact, a loud metallic bang is recorded by the footage, filmed on another cyclist's helmet-mounted camera, and the rider is thrown to the ground with his destroyed racer.

Two other cyclists, including the one filming, are also taken out by the incident, before helping their injured friend to the side of the road as he clutches his leg.

It was not immediately clear when the crash took place, but footage emerged on YouTube on Tuesday.

It comes on a day of accidents on London's roads, with two pedestrians being killed by buses in Shepherd's Bush and Southall.

A further two pedestrians were injured in a collision with a cyclist in Milbank, central London, during morning rush hour.
