A South Korean dairy brand has said sorry after an advert showing women turning into cows sparked controversy.

Seoul Milk’s advert captured women in a field who later morph into cows while a man secretly watches and films them.

There was outrage online over women transforming into cows and questions were raised over the man secretly filming the group.

It has gone viral after internet users re-uploaded the advert when the company pulled it from their YouTube page.

“We sincerely apologise to everyone who felt uncomfortable with the milk commercial released on 29th last month,” Seoul Milk’s parent company Seoul Dairy Cooperative said online.

“We are accepting this matter seriously and will conduct an internal review, and take extra care to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. We bow our heads in apology.”

In the clip, a man hidden by shrubbery approaches a group of women doing yoga.

The voiceover could be heard saying: “We finally managed to capture them on camera in a place of pristine cleanliness.”

But the women transform into cows when the man watching accidentally startles them by stepping on a twig.

It ends with the words: “Clean water, organic feed, 100% pure Seoul Milk. Organic milk from an organic ranch in the pleasant nature of Cheongyang.”
