The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will watch trainee officers being put through their paces today as they continue their tour of India.

Charles and Camilla, who are travelling across the Commonwealth country over nine days, will visit the Indian Military Academy in the city of Dehradun - equivalent to Sandhurst in the UK.

The prince will watch a close quarter battle range demonstration, view some of the latest equipment and watch other military exercises.

Meanwhile the duchess will tour the academy's equestrian centre, watching displays of jumping, polo and carriages.

Later Charles will visit the Forest Research Institute which was established in 1906 and whose history is virtually synonymous with the evolution and development of scientific forestry, not only in India, but over the entire Indian sub-continent.

Camilla will also carry out a solo engagement, visiting Doon School a prestigious institution for boys.

Towards the end of the day the heir to the throne will tour the Navdanya Bija Vidyapeeth farm where he will view a medicinal garden and later meet students, teachers and others over a cup of tea.
