Norwich have been dealt another blow after captain Grant Holt reaffirmed his intention to leave Carrow Road ahead of the new Barclays Premier League season.

City are already braced to lose manager Paul Lambert, with their decision to reject his resignation unlikely to prevent him from eventually joining Aston Villa. And he is set to be joined through the exit door by Holt.

The 31-year-old scored 15 league goals last season but had a transfer request rejected last month and has taken to Twitter to confirm he still wishes to leave a club he joined in 2009. He tweeted: "Just to stop the rumour mill again. I have expressed to the board and the CEO that I want to leave the football club. Due to disagreements."

He continued: "I have loved my 3 years at the club and it sadness (sic) me to right (sic) this but want use (sic) to here (sic) it from me first."

Norwich refused to comment on Holt's latest social network revelations but the club could be thrown into chaos if they lose the two most influential men in the last three successful years.

Holt's agent Lee Payne revealed shortly after the initial transfer request that his client was not driven by a desire for more money.

Payne also claimed Holt had a number of grievances with the actions of the board in the closing weeks of the season, something the Norwich hierarchy denied, but despite talks with chief executive David McNally it appears Holt is set to leave the club in the near future.
