England prop Joe Marler has signed a new contract with Harlequins that will keep him at Twickenham Stoop until 2016.

Marler is a product of the Quins academy and is set to make his 100th senior appearance for the club in Friday night's Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final at Stade Francais.

The 23-year-old has established himself as England's second choice loosehead behind Alex Corbisiero, winning his 19th cap during the recent RBS 6 Nations.

"Joe is and will continue to be a cornerstone in the pack and in the success of this club," Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said.

"He's developing into one of the leading looseheads in international rugby."
