Warriors crush Broncos

Pat Richards helped himself to a hat-trick of tries as Wigan took the London Broncos apart
18 May 2013

Pat Richards, Sam Tomkins and Josh Charnley all claimed hat-tricks as Wigan destroyed London 64-6 at the Stoop.

The trio's efforts were part of a 12-try Warriors blitz, with George Williams, Sam Powell and Ben Flower adding their own scores as the visitors strengthened their grip at the top of Super League to three points.

As well as his hat-trick of tries, Richards added 16 points with the boot to end London's three-match winning streak at home, with Luke Dorn's solitary touchdown their only bright spot during a miserable afternoon.

Daryl Powell's first match in charge of Castleford Tigers ended in a hard-fought defeat as Catalan Dragons held off a second-half fightback to win 39-30.

The hosts led 30-6 at half-time thanks to tries from Daryl Millard, Vincent Duport, Louis Anderson, Steven Menzies and Morgan Escare, all converted by Thomas Bosc, with Josh Thompson crossing for the visitors' sole score.

The Tigers came roaring back after the break, Thompson getting his second, Justin Carney scoring twice and Daryl Clark also going over, but Eloi Pelissier's sixth try for Catalan and a late drop goal and penalty from Bosc made sure the hosts held off the fightback.
