Wigan trio face bans

Three Wigan forwards are facing the threat of suspension for their part in the brawl that marred their side's 42-16 win over St Helens.

Gareth Hock and Chris Tuson will face a disciplinary hearing in Leeds on Tuesday following their dismissal for punching, while team-mate Lee Mossop, who was not punished at the time, has now been charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel for his part in the fray.

Hock and Mossop are facing grade B offences, which carry a ban of one to two matches, while Tuson is facing a grade C charge, for which he could be suspended for up to three games. St Helens forward Shaun Magennis, who was also sent off, is facing a more serious grade D offence, which carries a ban of three to five matches.

Mossop has until 11am on Tuesday to submit an early-guilty plea and avoid an RFL disciplinary hearing.

Fighting erupted at a scrum in the 53rd minute of the final match of the Magic Weekend at Manchester's Etihad Stadium.

Wigan, who were leading 34-6 at the time, held on with 11 men for a win that keeps them top of the Stobart Super League.

Huddersfield captain Kevin Brown and Widnes skipper Jon Clarke are both in danger of missing Sunday's game between their sides at the Stobart Stadium after being charged with offences from matches at the Magic Weekend.

Brown, who will join Widnes next season, has been charged with a grade B reckless high tackle on Salford prop Adam Sidlow while Clarke is facing a grade B offence of a dangerous throw on Warrington centre Matty Blythe.

Both Brown and Clarke are eligible to submit early-guilty pleas and accept one-match bans.
