Wiggins to race Tour of Flanders

2 April 2014

Sir Bradley Wiggins will replace the injured Ian Stannard in the Team Sky squad for Sunday's Tour of Flanders.

The 33-year-old 2012 Tour de France winner has been added to the eight-man group for the one-day classic after Stannard fractured his back in Gent-Wevelgem last weekend.

Wiggins has made Paris-Roubaix on April 13 a target this season and the Belgian classic known as 'De Ronde' will provide good preparation across the cobbles.

Geraint Thomas, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Bernhard Eisel, Christian Knees, Gabriel Rasch, Salvatore Puccio and Luke Rowe complete the Team Sky squad for the race.

It is the first time Wiggins will have ridden the race since 2005.
