Ben Stiller is set to star in 'Rentaghost'.

The actor-and-director will reunite with his 'Night at the Museum' writers Tom Lennon and Robert Ben Garant on the 20th Century Fox project, which will see Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Kevin McCormick produce the movie.

The film, which has lined up Patrick Pidgeon as executive producer and Andrew Mittman as associate producer, is set to be based on the 1970s British children's TV series of the same name, which featured a number of ghouls who worked for a supernatural company called 'Rentaghost' that hired out spirits for various tasks.

The motion picture is thought to see 45-year-old actor play the role of a US consultant sent to the UK to help reinvigorate the failing firm, a role that was initially lined up for Russell Brand.

Stiller is set to appear in 'Tower Heist' - which will be released next month - and he is currently thought to be shooting comedy movie 'Neighborhood Watch' with Vince Vaughn and Jonah Hill.

He is also in line to direct and star in a remake of 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty', which is based on a short story of the same name first published in 1939 in The New York magazine.
