Carol Wright 'relieved' at Lauren and Mark split
Carol Wright is "relieved" her son Mark has called time on his relationship with Lauren Goodger.
The 50-year-old reality TV star - who appears alongside her children Jessica and Mark, and mother Pat, in 'The Only Way Is Essex - explained the couple were "so unhappy" before calling off their 10-year on-off romance and five-month engagement at the end of August.
She said: "It's a relief they've parted - they won't get back together and they shouldn't for their own happiness. They argued all the time and they were both so unhappy.'
"I still see Lauren when she needs someone to babysit their dog Wrighty and I'll always be here for her."
Carol also revealed her husband of 29 years and Jessica and Mark's dad - who is known as Big Mark - could be set to join the cast of 'The Only Way Is Essex' after recently shedding three stone in weight.
She added in an interview with Woman magazine: "The biggest question of all is whether Big Mark will join the show. He has always said no way, but he's very vain.
"When I met him he couldn't take his eyes off himself in the mirror but he put a lot of weight on over the years and I think that's what put him off wanting to appear.
"He's been dieting and has already lost three stone. He's also started wearing little Mark's cast offs so I think he's coming round to the idea. Watch this space."
