Ariana Grande has shared a cryptic post about “letting someone go” in the wake of her former beau Pete Davidson’s new romance with Kate Beckinsale.

The pop princess, who split from Davidson last year, posted an emotional quote from author Horatio Jones which touched on the process of “healing” and leaving someone even if you “love them deeply”.

The post read: “Sometimes, the reason for letting someone go is because they can’t help but hurt you during this phase of their life.

"When you love someone deeply, you learn what demons live within them and you realise they are hurting you because they are hurting somewhere within themselves."

The quote concluded: “You let them go because you really believe that the both of you can find the healing you truly need without being together and hurting each other in the process.

“Letting someone go doesn’t mean you stop loving and caring about anyone. Letting go means you’re choose freedom over the illusion of loyalty.”

The comedian sparked speculation he was dating the star after reports surfaced that the pair were spotted “looking cosy” at Netflix’s Golden Globes after party in January.

Beckinsale previously clapped back at a troll after they criticised her “dating choices” on Instagram.

After she shared a selfie last month, one follower took the opportunity to criticise their rumoured relationship, writing: “Disappointed in your dating choices.”

Beckinsale quickly hit back with a savage response, telling the troll that she was “fairly let down by your wonky beard but thought possibly rude to say”.

SNL star Davidson was previously engaged to Grande, but the pair parted ways in October after less than six months together.
