There’s not many who would have the guts to take Simon Cowell’s X Factor, rubbish it and redesign it in front of the big man’s eyes.
But Craig Revel Horwood is dangerously close to crossing no-mans land between the Saturday night reality TV shows, as the Strictly Come Dancing judge offers to “save The X Factor for £5 million”.
Revel Horwood has not elaborated on how he would save the ITV series, but says he is ready for Cowell to pick up the phone and ask his advice – as long as he’s willing to pay the price.
The 47-year-old told BANG Showbiz: "I would hand out advice willingly. I could save his show for £5 million.”
He added:” I know what's wrong with it. I know what the solution is. It's only a phone call away, isn't it?"
Although he said his miracle cure was a “secret”, he hinted that it lay in the fact that the scripted critiques of the X Factor judging panel, which he said didn’t work as well as the spontaneous comments made by himself and his fellow Strictly judges.
He said: "The X Factor is, I suppose, a little bit transparent now and I think that is its biggest problem, its biggest issue. There aren't any surprises. You could write the script yourself and see it on television that evening.”
