Daniel Radcliffe looks dapper as he gets star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Daniel Radcliffe has received his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The Harry Potter actor looked dapper in a great tartan suit as he unveiled the prestigious plaque on Hollywood Boulevard on Thursday.

Radcliffe, 26, was joined by his parents who had flown over from the UK to be at the ceremony.

He said: “If you get to work in this job you are by sheer virtue of statistics one of the luckiest people on earth so none of us who are lucky enough to do this should forget that.

“I will never stop feeling lucky to be here and be a part of this.”

Although the star has done a number of films since the wizarding franchise wrapped, including Horns and Kill Your Darlings, he recognised the Potter fanbase.

“The Harry Potter fans are unique and amazing and wonderful and still six years on since I finished them I'm constantly being amazed by their passion and their curiosity and the way they are interested in so many other things,” he said.

Every year 200 nominations are submitted to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame Selection Committee and every June around 20 stars are selected.

For four decades, Jimmy Boyd was the youngest recipient of a star when he was given one at the age of 20.

In 2004 Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were awarded one at the age of just 18.
