Eddie Murphy has become a dad for the tenth time after welcoming a son with his fiancée Paige Butcher.

Butcher gave birth to 6lbs 11oz Max Charles on Friday, Murphy’s publicist announced.

Their newborn’s middle name is believed to be a tribute to the actor’s older brother Charlie Murphy who died of leukaemia, aged 57, in April 2017.

The couple, who have been together since 2012, are already parents to Izzy, two.

Murphy has eight other children, including 11-year-old Angel Iris who he shares with Spice Girl Melanie Brown.

The Nutty Professor actor was famously embroiled in a custody battle with Brown after he demanded a paternity test ahead of the birth.

Brown recently opened up about their brief relationship, describing him as the “love of my life”.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain she said: “I went for a dinner party at his house. It was very intense that attraction, so much that I left because it was too much.

“He’s such a lovely person, he’s all about family and he’s very respectful and old school and we courted for quite some time.

“It was like a love story that didn't have a perfect ending.”
