James Argent was given a telling off from Piers Morgan for fat shaming his girlfriend Gemma Collins when he is the ‘biggest he has ever been’.

Argent, 31, sent Collins a slew of nasty messages, including one which accused her of having “more rolls than Greggs” after she kicked him out of their flat for sharing a video of her snoring online.

Good Morning Britain's Morgan quizzed Argent on his actions, saying: “No offence mate but you’re not exactly in a position to lecture anybody about their weight. Of all the digs to use, why would you use weight?”

He replied: “It is pot kettle black. I struggle with my weight. I’m the biggest I’ve ever been. Gemma has lost weight and she looks the best she’s ever been.

“It was very childish and it wasn’t in my nature. We were both cussing each other.”

Collins, 38, kicked Argent out of their Essex flat and arranged for a removal van to take his belongings back to his parents’ house. But the split was short lived and the pair embarked on a romantic trip to Paris to patch things up.

“I’m absolutely on [with the GC],” he said of their relationship. “We’re okay, we’re fine, we’ve had a bit of a tough time recently.”

Of their trip to the French capital he said: “We wanted to make a special effort with each other and potentially save the relationship.”

Morgan asked if Argent was ready to “make a decent woman of Gemma” and propose to her.

The TOWIE star replied: “If we remained stable and we were in a healthy place then it’s something I would consider. I love Gemma to bits. I love everything about her. I’ve been with Gemma all different shapes and sizes, we’ve had a thing going on for years and I wouldn’t change a thing about her.”

Argent’s comments come days after Collins said their relationship is “complicated”.

Speaking to Jonathan Ross on his self-titled ITV show she said: “I do love the person I am with very much but sometimes our work life gets in the way. We just went on a romantic trip to Paris and then paps turned up, he didn’t arrange it but we really needed some time out and it kind of killed the trip.

“It’s just hard sometimes but you never know what’s going to happen, things could be alright in the end.”
