Guess who: Olly Murs fails to rake in the pounds as undercover busker 'Frankie'
Olly Murs could have fooled fans into thinking he was one of the least successful acts to come out of the X Factor when he was filmed busking in London.
The Wrapped Up singer looked to have grown a beard and long hair for his transformation into ‘Frankie’ for an undercover busking session in Covent Garden.
Murs, 30, was set the challenge by BBC Radio One Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw who wanted to disguise a popstar, put them on the streets of London and see how much money they could raise while singing their own songs.
Unfortunately for the Troublemaker singer, who spent two hours in prosthetics and adopted a fake accent for the challenge, he only managed to rake in a grand total of £19.56 - not even enough to buy a ticket to his own tour.
The singer took to the mic to tell passers by that he was going to sing a song by an "artist that I love and admire. I'm a big fan of his music you can probably tell".
Murs then belted his way through a string of hits including Dear Darlin', Dance With Me Tonight, Troublemaker and Wrapped Up, which attracted a group of dancing fans.
